We have talked to nearly every person who has known Tex over the years. From his breeder, to the trainers who had a hand in bringing him along, to the owners who believed in him. Every one of them has said the same things about Tex: He could have been a star! He just didn't have the money behind him.
I think that is a pretty common thing, there are a lot of incredible horses out there who will never be "known" because they didn't have the funding behind them. Of course, that does mean these world class offspring of his are affordable for us common people!
Tex's full brother did have the financial backing it takes to get to the top. Abrakadabracre was the 2001 NCHA Futurity Limited Open Champion and World Champion JR Cutting Horse.

Tex retired from the showpen sound.
He is an intense personality, and really wants to go back to work! We have found his offspring to be really level headed, they don't got hot or wound up when you put some pressure on them. They all have great bone, good feet, and solid builds.

In the spring of 2018, Tex came down with EPM. 6 months of medication and intensive care, and he seems to be on the mend.
Beginning in 2020, we are offering frozen breedings to a limited number of approved mares at this time.
We will continue to breed our own band of broodmares to him, and the offspring will be available.
